FLAMMABILITY – SUNLITE sheets are self extinguishing and comply with the most demanding of international fire resistance standards

THERMAL INSULATION – The excellent thermal insulation of Sunlite results from the air cells inside the hollow structure of the sheet. It has a much higher insulating ability than single walled, corrugated or solid flat sheet. It offers low heat loss (or gain), and therefore higher efficiency. The ‘U’ value is a number which measures the quality of thermal insulation. Lower values for a material mean superior thermal insulation.

STORAGE AND HANDLING – Sheets are supplied with a protective polyethelene film on both sides; a printed film is on the upper surface which has the UV protection. The sheet must be installed with this printed film side facing outwards. The sheets must be stored under cover with the protective film left in place. When protected with the film, the sheets should not be left exposed to sunlight for any length of time, as the sun’s warmth can be magnified as it passes through the stack causing excessive temperatures and a risk of the film adhering to the sheet. Care must be taken when handling sheets due to sharp edges.

CUTTING – The polycarbonate sheets can be cut using either a handsaw, jigsaw or band saw. When using a portable or fixed circular saw, protective eyewear and gloves must be worn. It is recommended that a fine toothed high-speed steel saw blade be used. An allowance of 4mm should be made around any item positioned through the sheet, for example fixings buttons or screws, to allow for thermal movement.

HEAT REFLECTING

POLYCARBONATE SHEET

  The advanced design reduces heat
penetration by blocking over 65% of the
  suns infrared heat.

ADVANTAGES Helps prevent conservatories from overheating Energy saving - significant reductions in cooling (air conditioning) costs. Prevents UV damage to humans, furniture and other interior objects. Light and easy to install, yet strong and durable. Weatherproof for all climates. Smooth, attractive look.

INSU-SOLAR HEAT REFLECTING

FOIL INSERTS (for 10mm only) Prevents up 80% of solar heat energy entering the roof.Saves up to 50%of internally generated heat (winter) from escaping through the roof.

  Retro Fit Option
Our pre-creased inserts can be fitted by manually
feeding them up into the Polycarbonate
chambers. These specially formed inserts DO
NOT require rods or mechanical aids for them to
  be installed.

  Factory Fitted Option
Our factory can fit solar inserts into any new
order for Polycarbonate Sheeting at additional
  cost.
